Members of parliament today 30 July will approve Timothy Musa Kabba as proposed Minister of Mines and Mineral Resources, his proposed deputy and wife of SLPP Chairman Ann-Marie Baby Harding and four others.

Parliamentary Committee on Public Services on Wednesday 29 July interviewed Timothy Musa Kabba based on his educational background.

The chairman of Committee on Mines and Mineral Resources, Hon Emerson Saa Lamina said MrKabba has appeared before the committee before and that the committee should waste no time on the nominee because he has presented his credential and curriculum vitae.

He explained that those who know the state of Petroleum Directorate can testify that the nominee has done well in that office and that his experience in this country and beyond can speak volume.

That they are going to vet the nominee whose multi-lingual strength can serve as a great asset to this country in bringing potential investors in the mining industry.

Hon Ibrahim Ben Kargbo asked the nominees whether he will reform the mining sector, the nominee responded to the committee that he is a technical person and that he is ready to work with everybody in the sector to reform it.

Adding that, he inherited an entity in a very bad state but within this two years he has revived the Petroleum Directorate and that there is no secret that mining companies have been banished in recent time but that with marketing and promotion in the sector, the country will attract credible mining companies.
