A veteran football coach in Sierra Leone has said he was not happy with the way and manner the public are reacting to the appointment of Amidu Karim and his back room staffs. Since the pronouncement of Amidu Karim and his back room coaches for the Leone Stars team several people have been blasting the FA’s technical team for such an appointment. Some says Amidu is not mature to be a head coach for the senior national team. Some prefer Mohamed Kallon than him while some said they will prefer a foreign coach instead. A veteran coach name withheld have said he is happy with the comments from the public. He went on that it yet too early for them to condemn the team as they all have vast experience in coaching. Beside he said they are all license A coaching certificate holders and they have coach top premier league clubs in the country. He went on further that Amidu Karim has a good character, one of the greatest things anyone look for in selecting a coach. Amidu Karim was also the head coach of the national U-23 national team. Amidu was with the FC Kallon technical team before he took up the job in the Leone Stars technical team as the 1st assistant to the outgoing John Keister. Few years back he was part of the home base team. He played a professional football in Egypt under top professional coaches. During his playing career he played for Old Edwardians FC and Mighty Blackpool before going out to play professional football in Egypt. Beside Amidu the Assistant coach 1 Francis Zapa Koroma is also a license A certificate holder. The former right back defender also played professional football in Egypt. In his coaching career he has coach several top premier league clubs in Sierra Leone. Before his appointment he was the head coach of Old Edwardians. The Assistant 2 Alhaji Foray is also a license A coach holder. The former Kamboi Eagles player and coach is presently the head coach of Bo Rangers. As part of the Bo Rangers FC technical team they won the Sierra Premier league back to back. He took Bo Rangers to the second preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League recently. Bo Rangers defeated LICSR FC from Liberia on 2-1 goal aggregate. The veteran coach went on that the appointment is yet a temporally job until they prove themselves in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. Amidu he said has been with John Keister throughout these years as assistant coach 1 and knows most of the players playing professional football. Their appointment will be extended if they do well in the World Cup qualifiers. The newly appointed coaches will start their job with the preparation for the World Cup qualifiers on Monday.
