Pastor Ibrahim Raymond Kargbo was an esteemed educator, mentor, and servant leader whose enduring contributions to education and community development continue to be widely recognized. During his tenure as a teacher at Gbinti Secondary School from the 1980s through the early 1990s, he demonstrated unwavering dedication to the academic, moral, and spiritual development of his students.
Distinguished by his strong sense of discipline, profound commitment to knowledge, and firm adherence to Christian values, Pastor Kargbo made a lasting and meaningful impact on the educational landscape of Gbinti. His approach to teaching extended beyond academic instruction, emphasizing character formation, ethical conduct, and the pursuit of excellence.
Although Pastor Kargbo later relocated to the United States, where he subsequently passed away, his legacy has continued through the commendable efforts of his family. In his memory, one of his daughters voluntarily established the Ibrahim Raymond Kargbo Memorial Foundation for the Underprivileged Student (IMFUS). The foundation seeks to support school-going children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, by providing school bags and essential learning materials.
To date, the foundation’s initiative has benefited three junior secondary schools and two senior secondary schools within Gbinti, thereby sustaining Pastor Kargbo’s lifelong commitment to education and student welfare.
During a beneficiary testimony, a student highlighted Pastor Ibrahim Raymond Kargbo’s exceptional relationship with the students of Gbinti Secondary School, noting the positive influence he had on many lives. She expressed sincere appreciation for his support and affirmed that his contributions would never be forgotten. In her concluding remarks, she emphasized his compassionate nature and dedication to assisting those in need, stating that the Gbinti community and the wider Gbinti Bannor will always remember and honor his legacy.
