The Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), Jay Shah, has praised the Chairman of Cricket Sierra Leone, Francis Samura, for his dedicated leadership in developing the sport in the country.

The ICC Chairman expressed his sentiments in an email sent on the occasion of Samura’s birthday last Wednesday. In the message, he wished Francis Samura a fantastic birthday filled with happiness, good health, and success.

He noted that Samura’s leadership in cricket administration continues to inspire and uplift the sport, adding that the ICC highly appreciates his dedication and passion for cricket. He also prayed that the year would bring greater achievements and joy to Samura, both personally and professionally.

Samura’s birthday coincided with a major milestone in his administration, which has successfully co-opted over thirty-eight thousand girls into cricket development programmes, with three of the 27 days dedicated to women’s cricket celebrations.

In his response, Francis Samura said he was gratified to receive such commendation from the leadership of the ICC. He assured the Chairman that he, along with board members and management, will continue to do their best to develop cricket in Sierra Leone.
