The Mohamed Omodu Kamara (MOK) Movement USA has concluded a one-day strategic retreat aimed at reviewing its progress, expanding its support network, and sharpening campaign strategies ahead of the All People’s Congress (APC) flagbearer race and future national leadership in Sierra Leone.

The retreat, held on Saturday at Vista Glen in Lanham, Maryland, brought together senior officials of the MOK Movement alongside representatives of allied organizations, including the APC Washington Metropolitan Chapter (WMC), DMV Legend, OurCare Inc 4 Jagaban, and the MOK Women’s Wing.

The gathering served as a moment of reflection and renewed commitment, as members assessed achievements so far and outlined fresh approaches to mobilization both within the diaspora and back home in Sierra Leone.

Addressing participants, MOK Campaign Manager Abu Bakarr Bangura praised the dedication of supporters and stressed that the movement’s mission goes beyond personal political ambition.

“This is not just about one man,” Abu Bangura said. “It is about contributing to the development of Sierra Leone and improving the lives of our people. While we are fully committed to supporting Jagaban’s leadership journey, the nation’s progress remains our highest priority.”

He explained that the retreat provided an opportunity to evaluate previous activities, identify strengths and challenges, and refine strategies to ensure effective grassroots engagement and broader political outreach.

He reaffirmed the movement’s determination to work tirelessly toward securing victory for Mohamed Omodu Kamara in the APC flagbearer contest, describing him as a leader capable of bringing unity, vision, and practical development to the country.

Other senior members of the movement also took turns to address the gathering. Among them was the Treasurer, Mr. Joseph Bobson Kamara, who is currently contesting for the position of Vice Chairman of the APC Sixth Region. He encouraged unity within the party and called on supporters to remain focused on building a strong political structure that reflects the aspirations of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.

The retreat further featured interactive discussions on fundraising, community outreach, media engagement, and strategies for strengthening ties between diaspora supporters and grassroots structures in Sierra Leone.

The event ended on an emotional and inspiring note with testimonies from prospective members of the MOK Movement. Several speakers shared personal stories highlighting Mohamed Omodu Kamara’s support to individuals and communities, describing his interventions as life-changing and rooted in genuine concern for the people.

Many participants expressed renewed confidence in Jagaban’s leadership qualities and pledged to intensify efforts to grow the movement in the coming months.

Organizers described the retreat as a major step toward building a more coordinated, disciplined, and impactful campaign structure capable of driving meaningful political change.

As the APC prepares for critical internal processes and future national elections, the MOK Movement USA says it remains committed to unity, service, and the collective goal of a better Sierra Leone.
