When the Coronavirus Pandemic hit the whole world the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Africa Cricket Associations pushed the dates of all tournaments that were to take place from March 2020 to July 2020 leaving out tournaments that were to take place in August 2020.

But having seen that the situation is still worst, the two Bodies have decided to put on hold all tournaments until further notice.

Among the tournaments that have been put on hold are the ACA/ICC Senior Male T20 tournament which was to take place in March 2020, ICC/ACA U-19 50 Overs World Cup qualifying tournament and the Senior Female T20 tournament.

Apart from the Senior Male team the U-19 and the Senior Female were on preparation for their tournaments in August 2020 when the news broke out.

Talking to SALONE TIMES Sports, the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) Daniel Koroma who is also the Team Manager for the National U-19 team said they are worried over the decision.

He went on that international bodies did not mention any definite date for the tournament.

This means they will come up with dates for the above tournaments at any time they find out it is favorable to play the game.

Daniel went on that in Sierra Leone there is still ban on all sports activities. Beside the ban, he said in raining season they don’t play cricket and there is no indoor court to play.

With this, Daniel said they are still appealing to government to ease restrictions so that they will start to use some of the days there will be no rain with all the necessary precautions put in place.
