 TENDER NOTICE

Procurement Type: Procurement of Works

 Funding: Finnish and Icelandic Red Cross Societies.

BACKROUND 

The Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) was formed by an Act of Parliament in 1962. It has a nationwide grassroots presence and a national structure within the 5 provinces and 16 Districts of Sierra Leone. SLRCS has over 18,000 volunteers across the branches, and with the support of these volunteers, SLRCS continues to be a strong and an effective national responder supplementing government authority’s effort in responding to disasters, emergencies, and situations of humanitarian need.

Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) intends to engage competent and experienced Eligible General and Building Contractors registered with the Government of Sierra Leone, Ministry of Works, Housing and Infrastructures under Classes 1 (I), or 2 (II) or 3 (III) for the Rehabilitation of Four (4) Hand Dug Wells (HDWs) fixed with Indian Mark II hand pump located at Dogolaya community (at the market), two  facilities (close to the Chief Compound and R.C Primary School) in Musaia town all in Falaba district and one hand dug well (close to the Mosque) in Taninahun community in Bo district. Therefore, interested Contractors under Class 1 (I), 2 (II) OR 3 (III) are invited to submit their tender.

A complete set of Tender Documents may be obtained at the Sierra Leone Red Cross Society (SLRCS) offices located in Freetown, Moyamba, Bonthe, Bo, Pujehun, Kenema, Kono, Kailahun, Bombali, Tonkolili, Koinadugu, Port Loko and Kambia   from 13th January 2026 onwards, between 9:00am to 4:00pm. (See address below for submission of tenders).

 Work Description:

 Rehabilitation of Four (4) Hand Dug Wells (HDWs) fixed with Indian Mark II hand pump . The contractor is requested to complete the works described in the Bill of Quantities within 60 days for the rehabilitation of Four (4) Hand Dug Wells (HDWs) fixed with Indian Mark II hand pump from the date of Signing the contract with SLRCS. Commencement of work is anticipated within 7 (seven) days upon signing the contract, which includes the mobilisation period.

Contractors are expected to visit the rehabilitation sites and make necessary assessment of work at their own cost.  This includes, but not limited to, the topography of land, transportation of materials, accessibility of the site in dry and rainy seasons, and the necessity and availability of required materials.

The contractor’s tender price will therefore take the above paragraph into consideration.

 Submission of Tenders

Sealed tenders should be submitted alongside the following supporting documents:

´  A Business Registration Certificate

´  Up to date contractor’s class category 1 (I), 2 (II) or 3 (III) Certificate from the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Infrastructures

´  Up to date National Revenue Authority Certificate (NRA)

´  Up to date National Insurance and Social Security Trust (NASSIT)

´  Similar works executed, detailed CV and Certificates of key personnel.

Tenders must be delivered into the SLRCS tender boxes located at No. 6 Liverpool Street, Freetown.

Bid submission date is on or before 29th January 2026 at 5:00 pm.

Sierra Leone Red Cross Society reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the offers without assigning any reason whatsoever and is not bound to accept the lowest bid.
