Amadu Abdul Kargbo disappeared shortly after the 2018 general elections in Sierra Leone, and his whereabouts is still not known.
A neighbor of Amadu said that after the election result was announced, some people perceived to be political rivals from the current ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) stormed Amadu’s residence at 47 Sesay Street- Makeni, killing his father- Sorie Kargbo, a strong member of the All People’s Congress (APC) – the main political rivals of the SLPP; and an elder brother- Osman Kargbo.
He said Amadu’s house was also set ablaze; and his Mother and some brothers were also beaten up, some arrested and locked up, some other family members seriously injured during the attack.
- He added that after the post-election political dust settled, people in the neighborhood have not seen or heard from Amadu.
