According to the Chairman of the Committee Hon. Salieu Osman Sesay, SLARI needs to do a lot for the national park to be a standard one and in the area of livestock.

Hon. Sesay said the Park needs government attention and funds for the national livestock not to collapse.

The area where the cows, sheep and goat are breeding is not in good shape, this the Committee Chairman advised the Minister of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security, Denis Vandi to visit the park and see for himself.

The Research Officer for SLARI at Musyia Village, Samba P. Turay informed the committee that the European Union helped them with two animal tractors but they have to train the staff together with farmers before using it.

Hon. Lahai Marah said the big challenge which Koinadugu and Falaba districts have been facing is between the cattle-rearer and the farmers.

He said no progress is taking place at the park, the road is bad and the structure is dilapidated.

Hon. Marah asked whether the research officer and other staff are they getting funds from the government to manage the park.

Hon. Amadu Kanu asked about the source of fund which they received from EU- 2 Million Euro which was shared between Teco Laboratory and Poultry.

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture Forestry and food Security Hon Foday Lamin Kabba pointed out that they know Koinadugu and Falaba districts for livestock rearing such as cow, Sheep and goat.

In his response, Turay said that there was fight between farmers and cattle-rearer at Mbriwa Limba Chiefdom which lead to death which he did not want that to repeat.

He also informed members that you would start something in small scale but that for the expansion it needs money.
