During the nomination of candidates for the SLFA executive on the deadline date Mohamed Kallon, Chairman Kasho Holland Cole and others were disqualified.
The reasons the committee gave was that they failed to present their nomination document on the right time and that the association and clubs that nominated them have not yet regularize their status.
Kallon though argued that he reached the place on time and that those that nominated him paid their fees on time with receipts given to them.
Notwithstanding according to SALONE TIMES Sports findings, 17 clubs, District and Regional Associations are yet to regularize their status.
According to Christopher Kamara, the Secretary General of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) the deadline to regularize their status has past but assured that for fair play the electoral committee will be given them one week (7 days) concession to allow them regularize their status.
Among the few who failed to meet the deadline are the Western Urban FA, Bombali District FA, Koinadugu District FA, FalabaDistrict FA, Kailahun District FA, Kenema District FA, Mighty Blackpool FC, RSLAF FC, Freetown City FC and more are yet to regularize their status.
Sources claimed some were not among the list to nominate a reason why they relax. But waiting for the dying minute is dangerous and may lead to failure, fans warned. It was though a surprising scenario for fans seeing clubs and associations in the provinces regularizing their status while those in the city close to the FA failed to do so.
