EU Boosts WIMSAL

Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL) expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the European Union in Sierra Leone for their invaluable asset donation received on the 16th of July 2023. The generous contribution of various essential items is set to significantly strengthen our secretariat and further empower female journalists across Sierra Leone.

The donated assets include:

1 Managerial Desk, 2 Desks, 140 Meeting Table, 2 Secretary Chairs, 1 Manager Chair, 3 Visitor’s Chairs, 1 Metallic Rack, 2 LED Lights, 1 Casio Calculator DR-120, 1 Dymo Labelling Printer, 2 Car Power Inverters, 1 Generator, 1 Air Cooler, 4 Dell Laptops (i3 and i7), 1 HP HDMI Screen, 2 APC UPS 650VA, 1 HP OfficeJet Printer, 5 Tecno Spark Phones and 2 iTEL A20 Phones.

WIMSAL’s general membership considers these donations as a significant boost to our capabilities, especially in strengthening regional offices, which are in dire need of support.

We want to assure the European Union that every item received will be utilized diligently and efficiently, directed towards the advancement and upliftment of female journalists in Sierra Leone. These assets will enable us to enhance our outreach, training, and advocacy efforts, empowering women in the media to play an even more crucial role in promoting gender equality and ensuring a vibrant and diverse media landscape in the country.

It is through such partnerships and collaborative efforts that we can make a lasting impact and drive positive change in the field of journalism.
