The Sierra Leone Cricket Association will tomorrow 8th March celebrate the International Women’s Day holiday with female matches in the premier and division 1 league.
The above league kicked off last Saturday 4 March with the women’s premier league at the POW Ovals with a match between Mid-West Vs Wanderers.
In order to celebrate Women’s day, the association has set mid-week fixtures with one premier league match at POW Ovals and two division 1 matches at Police field.
In the premier league tomorrow, Correctional female Cricket team will engage the defending champions Police Female team at the POW Ovals.
In the division1 league, Newton female CC will engage Murray Town female CC in a battle for supremacy at the Kingtom Ovals in the morning.
Both teams won their first matches played on Sunday. In the afternoon, Copper Safe female CC will face Crusaders female CC at the same venue. After the matches, the Board Chairman will address the ladies followed by entertainment and refreshment for all.
On the opening day of the league, Mid-West Female CC defeated Wanderers female CC by 10 wickets. The league continued with the division1 league this past Sunday 5 March where in the first match Murray Town defeated Copper Safe by 1 run. Murray Town batted first with 61 runs loss of 4 wickets in 15.0 overs.
Copper Safe female replied with 60 runs all out in 14.1 overs. In the other match, Newton female defeated Crusaders females by 10 wickets.
